WJMC: Day 2 Recap

11:15pm, July 11, 2016– Today was our first “official” day- and boy, was it jam packed! We started the day off with a keynote from the Today Show’s Hoda Kotb, who amazed us with her story of pushing through life’s obstacles and the power to persevere. Every single individual in the room was at the edge of their seat listening to her powerful words. This was such a vital message to get across to our future generation of journalists, and I’m so glad that she was the one spreading it on.

The group then moved on to the Newseum in Downtown D.C. This museum is like that of no other in the world…it is completely dedicated to all aspects of journalism; radio, print, broadcast, and especially covering first amendment rights. The correspondents really enjoyed being able to explore the full picture of the world of journalism!

Can’t wait for what’s to come for the days ahead. Off to get some much needed sleep!
